HP Electronics recently completed the installation of a professional-quality recording studio at a local college, purpose-built to teach the next generation of audio engineers. Designed to mirror the workflow and capabilities of top-tier commercial studios, the space offers students hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and technology in a real-world environment.
At the heart of the system is a Focusrite RedNet audio interface network, delivering low-latency, high-resolution audio over Dante for seamless, scalable connectivity. A rack-mounted Mac Pro serves as the central workstation, providing the processing power required for intensive recording, editing, and mixing sessions. Focal studio monitors were selected for their accuracy and detail, giving students a precise monitoring environment essential for critical listening. An Avid control surface rounds out the setup, offering tactile, intuitive control over DAW sessions and reinforcing professional workflow practices.
From multitrack recording and sound design to mixing for music, film, and broadcast, the studio provides a flexible, future-ready platform for audio education. With this installation, HP Electronics has helped create a learning environment that bridges academic instruction with real-world application—equipping students with the skills and experience needed to succeed in a competitive industry.
