HP Electronics recently completed the installation of a comprehensive audiovisual system for the brand-new auditorium at Severn Run High School. Built from the ground up, the system was tailored to support a wide range of school events, from lectures and assemblies to performances and presentations, delivering high-quality sound and video with intuitive, centralized control.
The audio system features full-range Community loudspeakers from Biamp, with main speakers and delay speakers configured to ensure even coverage throughout the space. Two subwoofers provide low-frequency support, rounding out the system with powerful, balanced sound suitable for both spoken word and music.
At the core of the system is a Crestron control platform, which gives users quick access to custom presets for different event types, including lectures and performances. During lectures, the Crestron system interfaces directly with the Yamaha digital mixer, automating key settings for simple, one-touch operation. This makes the system highly accessible for school staff while maintaining the flexibility needed for more complex productions.
Video projection is fully integrated into the system for both presentations and live events, with Crestron NVX handling video distribution and routing throughout the space. The entire system, audio, video, and control, is unified under a single, user-friendly interface, making it easy to operate while supporting the technical demands of a modern performance venue.
With this installation, Severn Run High School is equipped with a robust, scalable AV infrastructure that will serve students, faculty, and the community for years to come.
