St. John the Evangelist Video and Streaming System

St. John the Evangelist Video and Streaming System

Published: 11/21/2022

HP Electronics recently completed the installation of a comprehensive streaming and video distribution system, thoughtfully designed to enhance both in-person worship and remote participation without compromising the sanctity or aesthetic of the space. The system delivers high-quality video to multiple areas of the facility, supporting live services, overflow viewing, and online broadcast with ease.

At the heart of the system is a Crestron control platform, offering church staff simple, touch-panel operation for managing video sources, routing, and screen control. A Datavideo video switcher provides robust, real-time production capabilities—enabling seamless transitions between cameras, pre-recorded content, and other media inputs during live events. To distribute video signals reliably and efficiently across the sanctuary and adjacent spaces, HP Electronics implemented Visual Solutions technology, ensuring consistent image quality and minimal latency.

One of the project's most technically complex and visually sensitive components involved the installation of projection screens within the sanctuary’s challenging, angled ceiling architecture. Custom-designed and precision-installed, the screens retract completely when not in use, maintaining the traditional visual integrity of the worship environment. When deployed, they offer bright, crisp visuals that enhance the congregation’s experience without drawing attention away from the liturgy.

By blending cutting-edge AV technology with careful attention to the church’s form and function, HP Electronics delivered a solution that is as discreet as it is powerful—enabling the church to reach a broader audience while respecting its spiritual and architectural heritage.
